THE AIM OF THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS TEACHING DEPARTMENT

The Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department aims to train qualified Physical Education and Sports Teachers to encourage children and young people to participate in physical activities and instill sports awareness. In this department, students develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills by taking courses in fields such as sports science, educational science, psychosocial fields, health sciences, movement and training sciences, etc. The Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department aims to contribute to a healthier and more active life for children and young people by emphasizing the importance of sports and physical activity, and in line with these goals, it aims to train Physical Education and Sports Teachers who are conscious, possess a broad worldview and subject knowledge, understand the scientific foundations of sports, and can perform movement analysis. Graduates of the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department aim to educate children and young people throughout their professional lives to develop balanced and healthy personalities and characters in terms of physical, mental, moral, spiritual, and emotional aspects; to possess free and scientific thinking skills; to respect human rights; to value individuality and initiative; to feel responsible towards society; and to be constructive, creative, and productive individuals.

The Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department has a 4-year education program. The program primarily includes courses in sports sciences, educational sciences, psychosocial fields, health sciences, movement and training sciences, etc. In addition to theoretical courses, students take applied courses in the field of sports, developing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills specific to their field. They also have the opportunity to gain experience in their field through internships.
