The 24th of November event organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching was held.

As part of the 24th of November Teachers' Day celebrations, a conference titled "New Trends in Education: The Turkish Century Education Model and Physical Literacy" was organized at our faculty, with Mr. Ebubekir Sıddık SAVAŞÇI, General Director of Basic Education at the Ministry of National Education, invited as a speaker.

The event was attended by Mr. Ozan ÖZKAYA, Head of Research, Development and Projects Department at the General Directorate of Basic Education of the Ministry of National Education, our Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Çetin ÖZDİLEK, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching Prof. Dr. Mehmet ACET, protocol members, faculty members, and many students.

In his presentation, General Director Mr. Savaşçı discussed the fundamental principles of the Turkish Century Education Model, new trends in education, and assessments regarding the importance of physical literacy.

Ebubekir Sıddık SAVAŞÇI, Director General of Basic Education at the Ministry of National Education, stated that the "Turkish Century Education Model" is not merely a curriculum change, but rather a comprehensive approach encompassing physical education, methods for developing social skills, the anticipated societal transformation, and the importance of physical literacy in student development. Explaining the model's fundamental approach, Ebubekir Sıddık SAVAŞÇI said that the main goals are to define physical literacy as a fundamental educational outcome, integrate movement into all subjects and school life, and cultivate lifelong active lifestyle habits.

At the end of the conference, a choral performance prepared by Lecturer Yusuf Ziya BEYDÜZ and our department's 3rd-year students was presented. The performance, conducted by Prof. Dr. Sinan AKIN, was watched with great interest by the participants.

The program concluded with the presentation of a plaque and gift to Director General Ebubekir Sıddık SAVAŞÇI.
